Destined By: Lady Serenity Chapter 2 The scouts' eyes bugged out as they finally found out Tuxedo Mask's identity. Mina broke the silence. "So you're cape boy." She said jokingly, trying to ease everything up. Darien groaned at the comment that all the negi-verse enemies would call him. The girls laughed in union. Serena could feel Darien clutch her closer to him. She looked up at him and smiled. That smiled could warm up the coldest night. "Okay, Darien, what is your whole story?" Raye asked, her dark eyes blazing at him. They were filled with little trust. "I'm just Tuxedo Mask. Protector of Sailor Moon. Trying to find my princess..." His voice trailed on. Serena looked down to the floor sadly. Once he found his princess, he would be gone...forgetting all about her. "Ohh, so Darien, when did you start becoming Tuxedo Mask?" Amy asked. "I'm not sure...actually, I didn't know I was Tuxedo Mask until recently. I always thought that all the battles that I help you guys in was just a dream." He confessed. "Only a dream?" Lita asked, her green eyes looking at her best friend Serena. Serena was staring out in space, thinking it wasn't like her to be so quiet. "Serena, you okay?" Lita broke Serena out of her little trance. "Huh? Ohh, yeah, I'm fine..." "Ohh, that's good." Lita replied. Darien looked at his mate curiously. All she could do was give him one of her million dollar smiles. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "I wonder why I never saw you before. I mean, your friend said that you liked to hang around the Crown Game Center, my best friend, Andrew works there." Darien said. "Hmm, we might have met but forgot." Serena replied. A faint smile on her lips. "Doesn't matter anyways, we know each other know don't we?" Serena told him. He nodded, holding on to her. "I should go Darien." Serena said, as she pulled away from him. His face was hurt but he nodded. She then walked away leaving him daze. He didn't know what was bothering her. He didn't know if he did something wrong. It isn't right to leave a person thinking about what they did. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Serena opened the door to the empty house. Darkness filled the room. Tears started to form into her eyes as she burst out into tears as she leaned against the door. It hurt too much. Too much. Knowing that they wouldn't be together. He was in love with his princess, not her. It could never be. To love someone but not receive love back was painful. And after losing the three people that meant so much to her was awful. She was suprized that she was able to love again . . . ~Flashback~ "Don't worry, I'll take good care of the house mama." Serena replied to her mother, Ikuno. She looked at her daughter again. She sighed. "Okay, you can stay home. But don't make a big mess, and clean up your room. Don't stay up to late too." Ikuno lectured. Serena nodded. "Honey, let's go." Kenjo exclaimed from the car. "Take care sweetheart." Ikuno said, kissing Serena's cheek before they left. "Bye Meatball head, don't eat to much!" Sammy exclaimed. She waved good-bye to them as the car drove away . . . ~End~ Tears welled up in her eyes more. That was the last day that she saw them alive. A car had crash right into theirs, making it lose control and hit a tree. None of them survived. She hated that person that drove into her parent's car. She hated him so much! Driving drunk as it is. She wrapped her arms around her knees and just sat there, by the door crying. Crying of old and new memories. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Hmm, what's wrong Darien?" Darien heard a familiar voice ask. He looked up to see his best friend, Andrew. "Nothing." "No, something's up. I know you Dar, so fess up." "Well . . ." "Is this about a girl?" Andrew asked, knowing he was right when his friend winced. "What's her name?" "She's Serena. She has beautiful golden blond hair. Deep blue eyes that could melt anybody's heart. Kissable lips that are so sweet. Soft hands." Darien started to list. "Serena, hey isn't she that girl that comes to the arcade once awhile? How old is she?" "17." "Hmm, two years difference, I don't see anything wrong with that." "No, I thought everything was find between us. She's with me, but it's like she isn't. Do you know what I mean?" "Yeah." "I really care about her! I just don't know what's bugging her. She seemed to be okay until today. She started to become distant. It's just driving me crazy! I'm afraid that I would lose her! I mean, I think I might be in love with her!" "Hmm, Dar, I say you just go up to her and tell her how you feel. Tell her how much you care about her. How much you love. Tell her everything. And wait and see what she has to say. She might be afraid to commit or that she has a lot going around her." Andrew advised. "Thanks . . ." Darien replied to his friend. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Serena, we got to talk . . ." Darien ran up to Serena who was in front of him. Serena looked around nervously. "Okay. Let's go to your apartment." She replied. He nodded in agreement. They walked together in silence to his apartments. Looking at each other when the other wasn't looking. The finally appeared in the apartment. "So, what did you want to tell me Darien?" Serena asked, as she sat down on the chair. "Well, I wanted to talk about us." "Us?" "Yes, Serena, I felt like you been so, well, out of it lately. Like you are trying to ignore me. What have I done?" Serena didn't say anything. Darien just kept on talking. "I care about you so much, but it is like you are shutting me out of your life. What did I do? What did I do?" "Nothing." Serena began. "It isn't you. It isn't you. I just can't stand it! My family, my family, died, and I feel like I could have done something to save them. I mean, if I was with them I bet they could have survive, I bet I could have saved them before anything happened!! I mean, instead of going, I stayed home. Home! I mean, how pathetic? You know what else? That same day my father and me had a fight. I feel like I can never say sorry. Never say sorry for what I have done." Tears started to well up in her eyes as she continued to talk. "I don't know if I could trust love anymore. I love you. You know that? I truly do. But I can't help but think that when your princess comes, you won't love me anymore. You won't. I know that. The way you talk about your princess. I don't blame you. I'm just an annoying brat. Nothing compared to your princess." "Serena, that's not true . . ." "Is it? I mean I see it on your face whenever you talk about her. Hmm, it's not like anyone cares for me anyways. See my friends? I doubt if they like me, or if they would ever. I bet the only reason why we are friends is because I'm one of them. I never did want to be a scout. Being a scout striped me off of everything. It's like someone else is controlling my life!" "Serena!! Stop it!! Listen to yourself! You can't blame yourself for everything. It wasn't your fault. It was never your fault!" Darien shook her. "Never my fault?" "Never. Serena, I love you, don't you ever forget that. No matter what." "No matter?" "Serena . . ." He bent down and gave her a long sweet kiss. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com
