PG13 History Will Not Repeat Itself Part Six: Why by: Shell Presto Legal Stuff!!!: I don't own any Sailormoon characters. Naoko Takeuchi and various companies hold that priveledge. *However,* this STORY is my own, and I'd like to keep it that way. I'd love for you to read it, even better if you enjoy it, hope you may be inspired by it, but plead that you do not copy it. Give credit where credit is due, and to each their own. Have honor, okay? Most importantly, though, ENJOY!!! (P.S. You probably want to "wrap" this story) She was kneeling beside him, white dress shimmering in the light of the colorful dusk. Her long golden hair danced along with the grass and leaves amidst the cool spring breeze. And among all this beauty it was her eyes that caught his attention, sky blue and endlessly deep. He lost himself among those breathtaking crystals. Immediately, his confidence was restored as he wrapped long arms over her thin, fragile form, tightening so gently, as if too much force would break her. His words were soft as fine silk, yet the princess could always decipher what her prince meant, whether his words were audible or not. "I missed you." She replied in with equal longing, smiling slightly at his kind demeanor, "As I have missed you." He slid his hands to her shoulders, as if afraid to let her completely go. He stared at her with joy and wonderment in his eyes. "How are you here?" Her casual smile became quite the grin. "You needed me, Endymion. We promised we would always be here for one another." Confusion washed over his face. "But... Usagi...?" "I..... She and I.... we should be one... and yet..... I was able to..... I am the more dominant personality..... Endymion, something is wrong. She's not... She and I should be one and the same, though she rejects this aspect of herself. I think because..." He cut her off. "She's the only one going through the changes, and she doesn't want to lose herself or be alone. Mamoru would have gone through them with her, became more like his former self, like me." She nodded slowly. He fell to silence. Neither had any words for the situation. Should Endymion blame himself? Or was it Usagi's fault? Perhaps fate was simply playing jokes on them, taunting them. Then again, no one said this, or any life, was going to be easy. Contrary to that, the couple had learned that life was very, very difficult. This fact made him appreciate the woman sitting next to him even more. He kissed her softly on the cheek, playfully running his fingers through her hair. She returned the gesture, and soon their lips were locked together as were their hearts in passion and love for one another. They couldn't believe it was almost taken away from them, a millenium ago. The thought caused Serenity to shiver ever so slightly. Arm wrapped around her in comfort, they made their way to Mamoru's apartment. Though neither had truly been there, Serenity knew the directions in her mind would not betray her. Endymion didn't ask as they entered the very white, very modern, and very plain apartment. Usagi had, in haste, taken the key from his armor when he still had it on, as displacement caused such items to be kept in any form. As such, it came with Serenity's gown as well. Serenity was quite comfortable in the apartment, memories not quite hers calming her senses. Endymion was edgy in the strange place, a home he'd never seen nor been to. The simplicity of it didn't have any sense of royalty, and only a few scarce potted plants and vases showed any sense of the Earth. It wasn't at all the type of home Endymion thought he could live in. "You look sick again," she commented, wiping a few beads of sweat from his hot brow. "You're burning...." "I feel hot..." he confirmed. He looked at her a moment, his mind clouded so he could not exactly see her. His arms found her once again though, and he leaned heavily into her. "I think I'm getting a fever.." "You don't seem well at all, love. You should rest." He was led into the bedroom and laid upon a matress that was far from feather soft yet not exactly stiff. Serenity immediately opened the window and screen, then made her way to the kitchen for a cold cloth. Endymion felt as though he was dying. Bouts of sickness followed him, he didn't know how he managed to be fine one instant then incapacitated the next. It made sense to blame the radical changes taking place in his life. Still, he would pull through. There were some things more important than his own life. "Hold still," she instructed him as she rested herself at his bedside. "This will help." The cool, soaked washcloth felt as wonderful as the girl caressing it over his forehead. This allowed him a moment to relax, and he held her hand to his face, once again unconsciously afraid she might leave. He was terrified of the thought. Quickly he pulled her down onto the bed with him, bringing her body as close as he possibly could. It was all very reminiscent of their last days together before the war that ended their past lives. She felt it as well, knowing she couldn't stay forever by his side, at least not in the form he desired. She saddened as she realized a morbid fact. It was, beyond a doubt, making him sick. So many changes had nearly severed his bonds with the Earth and Elysion. She was sure that if he didn't adapt it would eventually kill him, the unfamilarity of it all. He also needed her, as his mind was desperately searching for something he knew, someone to take care of him until he could once again provide for himself. Serenity began to cry, heavy sobs racking her chest, "I'm sorry." Endymion was ever confused, he applied a reinforcing grip to her tiny shoulders, and soft, heartfelt words to her ears, "It's alright, Sere. You didn't do anything wrong. Anything but. You always know what to..." "But it's my fault!" she yelled, angry with herself and her actions. "It's all my fault!" Tears streamed down her face in abundance, landing on a shocked Endymion's hot skin. "Sere... What?" As soon as she hand begun her outburst, she stopped. Hatred with herself was replaced by insecurity, and she found herself clutching to her love's shirt as if he would leave her in the cold, right then and there. Even when he wrapped his arms about her in reassurance, she pushed in closer to his hot flesh, sobbing uncontrolably. "I'm so sorry.... This is all my fault," she whispered, half hoping he would not hear. "I was so desperate when you... when Mamo-chan had died... Please forgive me, Usagi and I were one then, as were you and Mamo-chan, so names were loosely used and easily lost. Still... When he died, I was so desperate, and alone. I didn't know what to do. In that instant I needed you, and the Silver Imperium Crystal found you, all those years ago, when you had died." At this moment she laughed slightly, not because anything was funny, but because of the sheer irony of what had happened. "You know, back when Beryl had cut you down, your wounds weren't at all truly fatal. If there would have been a way to get you to a healer in time, your wounds could have been restored. As a matter of fact..." "The crystal could have," he interrupted as he began to comprehend. "Yes. I couldn't heal Mamoru, he was very much so dead, but you.... I don't know exactly what happened, I wasn't really thinking. All I know is that I needed you. I... I'm not sure, I think I replaced your body with Mamoru's, like a switch. His corpse in the past for you, though you were injured. You should still have the scar on your back, it was that late, I think. It was easy to heal you now, with the crystal...." Endymion sat up a bit, adjusting her as well. "Then you're saying there is no way to get Mamoru back for Usagi?" Quietly, she nodded in the affirmative. End Part Six. Alas, short again (not to mention late) and I apologize. School is taking a lot out of me, though I think I'm finally back on track. With all hopes I will have the next chapter out by next week. If not, I at least post previews on my website, so you can check that out when I'm late. http://www.geocities.com/Tokyo/Bridge/3542/index.htm There area also site exclusive stories by yours truly, so I'd check it out.
