Silver Linning

Chapter 14 (final)

I cannot deny it,
Though I can hid it,
The feelings that I have for you.
At first I thought,
It was just a little attraction,
And nothing more,
But I was wrong.
You laugh at me,
You tease me,
You cause me to cry.
Can you not see?
These tears are real,
They are like fire against my skin.
But sometimes you smile,
You grin,
You make me happy.
I am confused,
What are you doing to me?
Never thought,
That I would fall in love with you.
Didn't think,
That I could be so foolish,
But for some reason,
I'm not ashamed.

	The figure in lavender smiled at his daughter 
as he sat on the couch.  Darien and Devvon still 
gapped at him.  "Strange seeing the both of you in 
front of me.  I never thought I would."  He said 
with a smile, as they nodded, still glaring 
contently at him.

	"I am Neo-King Endymion, of Crystal Tokyo."  He 
told them, as they looked at him confused.  "Now we 
do not need to go into that.  It is unimportant.  
You must be wondering where Serenity - Serena is."  
Then nodded as he continued on, "The man who took 
her away was Mamoru.  He is devoted to her.  I 
remember hearing others speak of seeing him peering 
into the Neo-Queen's quartz imprisonment.  They 
said that he stayed there three days and three 
nights trying to find a way to set her free.  
Though he was unable to, he thought of something 
else.  Save her in the past, or should I say the 
present, so she would be safe in the future." 

	"And who is this Mamoru person?"  Darien asked, 
as Endymion turned to him, knowingly.  "Mamoru is 
another form of you.  He is the evil part of you 
two, or should I say three.  Do you not remember 
being in a car accident so long ago Darien?  During 
that accident, your soul was spilt into three - 
yourself, Devvon, and Mamoru.  You're soul 
protected Serena.  Devvon protected the princess.  
And Mamoru - he was the dark one of you three.  He 
lived for her, and he would die for her.  He does 
as she wishes.  He protects the Neo-Queen."

	"Then why did he take Serena?" Raye asked, as 
he turned to the fire senshi.  "There is no time to 
ask anymore questions, we need to get to the future 
to save her.  The timeline is slowly changing 
because of what he did.  Hurry before it collapses 
into a different future."  They nodded, as a dark 
portal summoned by Pluto opened before them as they 
entered it, getting swallowed up in the dark mists.

	Mamoru smiled as he looked at the sleeping 
figure of his goddess.  He turned as he walked into 
the palace halls.  His footsteps clicked against 
the marble floors.  Soon he found himself in the 
middle of the meeting that the generals and the 
senshi were having.

	"Endymion!" Raye exclaimed, as he raised and 
eyebrow at her.  They were the ones who caused 
Serenity to be in that eternal sleep that she was 
in.  They were unable to protect her, unable to 
save her.  They were unable to complete their duty.  
His eyes darkened.

	They looked at him, as he seemed different.  
"Endymion, are you alright?" Jadeite asked, as he 
looked as his friend, walking up to him.  Mamoru 
laughed.

	"I'm fine, never been better." The tone in his 
voice was far deeper then they have ever heard 
Endymion talk, but it was still the same.  Raye 
held onto Jadeite as they sensed something wrong 
with him.  Mamoru held out his hand, a blast of 
dark energy shooting out at them, imprisoning them 
all.

	They looked at him in frustration.  "Why are 
you doing this Endymion?  What is the meaning of 
this?"  He laughed at them, as he replied back, "I 
am not Endymion.  I am Mamoru."

	"I am putting you in the same curse that my 
love is in.  You shall be lulled in the same sleep 
as Serenity, never to awaken until she does.  I 
want to see how you would feel if you were her."  
The figures then dropped lifeless, as the curse 
took over them.

	He chuckled and walked away, the clicking 
sounds of his shoes continued to fill palace.


~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

	The portal opened as the senshi and generals of 
the past all piled up in the main room of the 
beautiful palace.  "Welcome to the future Crystal 
Tokyo."  They looked in awe as he smiled.  With a 
quick flick of the wrist, he pulled out a 
communicator, as he called upon the senshi.  He 
also called his generals, but they did not respond.  
Amy saw the strange look on his face and questioned 
it.

	"It's strange... the future senshi are not 
replying to my call.  Usually Jupiter would be the 
first one asking me what I would want for 
dinner..." a lovely blush crept Jupiter's face as 
the others smiled.  "But no one replied 
yet."

	"Don't worry, you won't find them.  I put them 
in the same spell as the Neo-Queen."  They turned 
to see Mamoru with Serena by his side.  Serena's 
eyes widened as she looked at the others happily.  
"Senshi!  Generals! Dev.... Darien..." her eyes met 
Darien's as Devvon watched.  His heart tore in two, 
but right then he knew that he could never take 
Darien's place in Serena's heart.

Usa:  Ahh, I can hear Lady Meatball Head pump up 
her head and say YES!  As her twin is laughing at 
Devvon and saying what a dork he is... 
::sweatdrops:: though Devvon is just a replica of 
Darien, he doesn't compare to the real deal ne?  
Ohh well...

*Chi: Lol, you guys are silly, but I know how you 
feel Lady..I like Darien better too even if they 
are the same people ehehe.

	Mamoru saw the look that Serena gave Darien and 
couldn't help but feel jealous.  She could feel his 
emotions raging as she looked at him.  "Iie... 
Onegai... don't..." It was too late, the room was 
filled with an incredible light, knocking them all 
down as Mamoru laugh.

	"Serenity is mine.  The longer she is in your 
protection, she will get hurt.  Did you not see her 
in the crystal that imprisoned her?  It is because 
of all your failures that caused it."

	Uranus looked at him heatedly.  "Shammit, you 
shut up and give us back our princess now."  He 
sent a blast towards Uranus, slamming her against 
the wall as Neptune and Saturn scrambled to where 
she lay, trying to help the unconscious senshi of 
the wind.

	"She is -my- princess."  He corrected, as 
Serena felt shivers go down her spine.  'How evil 
his voice is, but he is doing all this for the love 
he has for me...' She tried to stop him, but he did 
not listen to her.  He continued on, throwing balls 
of dark energy, rendering most of the senshis and 
the generals unconscious as the others helped, 
trying to revive their friends.

	There stood Tuxedo Mask and Moonlight Knight.  
Mamoru struck them down, and they fell heaplessly 
to the ground.  Knight shakily stood up, knowing 
that his mission was to protect the Princess.  He 
sent out a big blast towards the Moonlight Knight, 
determined to kill him as Serena pushed him out of 
the way.  With horror, Mamoru and Devvon watched as 
the blast headed towards her.  Darien's eyes 
widened as he felt Serena's emotions coursing 
through his body.  He held her in his arms and 
turned her around to block the blast, as he 
whispered softly, "I love you."  What seemed like 
an eternity became seconds as the blast pierced his 
body.  

	Serena looked down in shock and cried out in 
despair.  "DARIEN!!!!"  Tears streamed down her 
face as a sparkle of light filled the room.  Her 
tear crystallized and became hard, as it sparkled 
with beauty.

Usa: ::sniff sniff:: I was listening to My Only 
Love while writing that part... ::cries:: wah!

	The quartz that surrounded the Neo-Queen slowly 
melted away as the figure slowly woken.  She 
stretched out and let out a groan.  "Ack... I'll 
never sleep late again..." she said, as she propped 
herself up.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

	The senshi and generals woke up, as they were 
gleeful.  "This means that Serenity..." Raye gushed 
out, as Haruka rolled her eyes.  "Duh Mars, you 
don't even need to be Mercury to figure that out."

	Raye looked at the outer senshi, wondering 
about her sudden ironic outbreak.  She ignored the 
comment as went into her love's embrace, letting 
out a sigh.

	Amy kissed Zoicite, burying her head into his 
chest.  'Hmm, smells like coffee...' she thought, 
as she kissed him again.  Mina giggled hysterically 
as Malachite tickled her.  "Stop... that... or 
else... you'll... be... on the... couch... for... 
the... rest... of... the millennium!"  He quickly 
topped and kissed her.

	Nephrite picked Lita up as he spun her around.  
"Neph... if you don't stop it, I think I'm going to 
get nauseous!!"  He put her down as she playfully 
hit him on the chest.

	Michiru and Haruka looked at all the love 
radiating in the room.  Haruka looked at each 
couple and at her love.  "Ahh, forget this..." she 
said, as she kissed Michiru deeply.

	The light filled the room as in Serena's place 
stood Serenity, in her beautiful gown.  The senshi 
and generals were fully healed by the light of the 
crystal, but sadly enough, Darien was not.  Tears 
continued to stream down, as the outers were 
surprised as the talisman appeared before them.  
Pluto grinned, 'good to have this back.' she 
thought.  Endymion smiled and slipped out of the 
room, as he sensed 'her'.

	The others bowed to Serenity, causing her to 
look at them in surprise.  Instead of reprimanding 
them, she slowly sank to the ground and placed 
Darien's head onto her lap.  His eyes slowly 
fluttered open, gasping in pain.  "Serenity?" he 
whispered weakly.  She nodded, as he smiled at her.

	"I finally get to see you, my princess.  Even 
though you are my princess, you will always be my 
Meatball Head..." she nodded, gasping with tears at 
the sound of the hated pet name.  "Noo Darien, 
please you can't leave me.." she sobbed grasping 
onto his shirt as though it would help her hang 
onto him longer.


*Chi: Yea, well if I were her, I'd do the same 
thing too, I mean who wouldn't want to hold onto 
Darien...::sigh::

	Serena looked up in wonder, remembering her 
mother's fated words.  She turned her gaze towards 
Devvon and Mamoru with pleading blue eyes.  
"Please..only you can help save Darien.  If he 
dies, then you both will die, and I can't bear to 
lose all three of you.." she said through her river 
of tears.  

	Mamoru and Devvon looked down at the loving 
couple.  They finally understood that they were a 
part of Darien, no matter how hard they tried to 
change that.  It was time that their souls joined 
together, making them whole again.  The two men 
concentrated their powers and began to emit a 
golden aura as they disappeared, entering Darien's body and becoming one.

	"Nani...?"

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

	Serenity sensed something was happening and 
swiftly got up.  However, the months of being 
encased in the crystal hindered her coordination 
and she fell to the ground.  Strong arms wrapped 
around her before her face hit the ground, 
"Sigh..what would happen  if I was never there to 
save you from ruining that pretty face of yours?" a 
deep voice chuckled as he kissed her neck.  Before 
Serenity could retort, Endymion smothered her lips 
with his, as he hungrily kissed her.  After they 
broke apart, she gazed into his deep, dark blue 
eyes, entranced by the full display of his 
emotions.

	"I love you," Endymion said hastily, not 
wanting to waste another precious moment.  Serenity 
buried her head in his chest, feeling the warmth of 
his body enter hers.  "And I, you," she murmured 
contentedly.

	With that, he lifted her chin and kissed her on 
the lips as he had never done before.

	Serenity held Darien, as his body bathed in the 
same golden light as Devvon and Mamoru.  His 
clothing changed into an suit amour and his eye 
slowly fluttered open. 

	"My love?" he asks, as she nods, tears 
continuing to flow but for a different reason.

	"I never thought I would ever hear you again." 
She said, as he smiled that quirky, cute smile of 
his, enjoying the position he was in.  "Never say 
never my love..."

	She smiled, as she bent down and kissed him, as 
she whispered softly into his ear, "I love you..."

	"And I love you..."

	It is over!!  Though I told Lady MH in 2/3 
parts, I guess I was wrong.  It's over, boo hoo!!  
::tears:: wahhh!!!!!!  Well, it's been so 
wonderful.  I just loved writing with you Chi Chi!!  
It was like so fun!!  ::mischief voice::  I wish we 
can do it again... Well, PLEASE e-mail us with all 
your comments.

::whispering:: Oh my gosh.....it's the end.....I 
don't know whether to laugh or cry...=oT Oh well 
might as well do both..hehe.  Thanx to all of you 
who have stuck by us from the beginning, and I'd 
like to give a special thanx to Nancy and Lisa, and 
of course my imouto Usa-chan, who got me started on 
writing my first fic, which hopefully will not be 
my last >=o)  If you guys really want an 
ending..you'll write us and encourage us to do an 
epilogue >=o)
