Join the mailing list(at lunap.com)! You won't regret it! Just a little side bit before you read...the Earth and the Moon are in contact with each other, but Serenity and Endymion did not meet each other yet b/c the royal families of each respective kingdom did not arrange for the two to meet, as Serenity and Endymion were still continuing their important leadership training for the future. (At least, that's what I think, it makes it a lot easier for this story) AHHH! Enough author's notes! (but wait, there's more at the end...) @->-->-- To Exist... Chapter 1 By April Rayne She'd finally done it. Without one single, solitary word to anyone, she did the forbidden…and visited the Earth. Serenity trembled slightly as she leaned over to touch the velvet petals of the roses in the garden, illuminated by the moonlight. She smiled to herself as she thought,'I don't care so much for the trouble I'll be in when I return, as long as I get to see these roses…and him.' Her heart beat erratically at the thought. Him. Endymion. The only person who had been able to make her catch her breath, and made her heart do that once unfamiliar dance within her chest. She loved to hear her mother mention the good deeds Endymion did on Earth, how he was loved and respected by everyone. It had been thrilling, the way she felt whenever she saw glimpses of him through monitoring technology on the moon. Would it still be thrilling if she saw him in person? She found out much sooner than she had expected. "Who's there?" a voice called out from the shadows. Serenity gasped and stood frozen to her spot, her eyes widening at the familiarity and richness of the voice. It was him. The bushes beside her rustled and soon a man's form came through, clad in a deep blue and silver armor. 'Oh yes.' Serenity thought to herself as she stood dumbstruck. 'It's still thrilling…' He stopped as he saw a beautiful lady, almost an apparition in a flowing white dress, standing in his favorite spot, the one by the rose bushes. As if under a natural spotlight, the moonlight shone directly on her, illuminating her hair to a shining silver gold. He didn't stop and gaze at her out of anger, fear, or speculation. He was simply mesmerized by her the second her crystal blue eyes met his. "I'm sorry…I…" "Who are you?" he whispered breathlessly as he approached her. Serenity, confused as to whether she should hide or not, bent her head down so she wouldn't betray herself with the heat forming in her cheeks, or the shine in her eyes. The closer he came, the more fretful she became, and soon she was all but ready to run, but some force… Him?…No,herself…forced her to stay and face him. Soon, he was a mere foot away from her. He noticed her slight shaking and cursed himself for scaring her. He decided to throw royal protocol out the window and follow the insane little voice in his head that said, 'Follow your heart'. One of his hands strayed to her side, taking her warm hand in his. She did not flinch. Taking this as a sign to continue, he took his finger and placed it lightly under her chin, slowly lifting her face up so that their eyes met again. "This is my secret rose garden… I'm the only one that knows about this place, and yet…here you are," he said unbelievingly, almost to himself. She seemed familiar somehow, as if he had seen her before…Searching her face, he found the Moon insignia hidden underneath the blond bangs on her forehead. His heart skipping a beat, he knew the truth before she could utter a word out of her mouth.'The loving, generous goddess I'm always wondering about…' "The moon shines on your beauty…" he whispered. She noticed the sudden realization in his eyes and turned away, totally sure now that she had no choice but to do what she came here to do. "I have always wanted to see you…" "Eh?" "You…I've always been watching you…" There had been no turning back after that confession, and sure enough the Prince of the Earth and the Princess of the Moon fell in love. Serenity and Endymion met many times after that, when she would come over to the Earth, or he would visit the moon. Queen Serenity eventually found out about their meetings, and requested that she see the both of them together. The Queen, who sensed the strong celestial bond upon seeing the two together for the first time, approved greatly of the match. Now, there was nothing in the rulebooks that said that they couldn't fall in love…The Moon did advocate Love and Justice, after all. But there were those few that held disguises on the Moon, those unfortunate few that could find a love and twist it to their advantage. Unfortunately, they had their eyes set on the Prince and Princess. ------- The darkness of the outside helped to hide their figures well, the shadow of the column falling onto her eyes. Her eyes, formerly green, now held a blood red tinge to them, and suffused fear into anyone that she met. "You understand what I am talking about, then?" The man she faced nodded, and she smirked. "Good. Take this as a sign of the coming of the New Age-it has never been this easy to infiltrate the palace, and soon we will take control." "But the Queen, and the Princess…what if they find out?" He was afraid to face them if they found out that he was a traitor. "The princess will find out too late. Her mother won't know a thing until the full attack comes. She was too quick to think that nothing would happen while she was away. I'm still in shock that she didn't realize that something like this was bound to happen." She laughed, throatily, to herself. "And the prince-?" "Stupid man. He'll be too caught up in the principle of it all to fight. Peace loving fool. Didn't know what he was getting into when he scorned me…He'll pay soon enough." she spit out, bitterly. The man watched as she turned away from him, her burnt auburn hair tossed over her shoulder in a clear sign of agitation. Her voice faded as she used her magic to teleport. "Make sure all goes well…and perhaps Queen Metallia will repay you…kindly." "Yes, Lady Beryl." ------- Endymion waited for Serenity, a fresh rose in his hand. He sat down on the stone-sculpted bench, and twirled it between his fingers. He smiled as he remembered what she had said to him only a week ago. 'I have a surprise for you, Endy,' she had whispered while she grasped his hand. He bent down so his forehead was touching hers. 'Oh, really?' he laughed. She nodded. "Just wait for another half hour." She had said again to him just a half hour ago over an audio-visual communication link. His smile broadened. His little rabbit was full of surprises. "Prince Endymion!" A male voice called out. His head shot up at attention. 'How do they know I'm here? This place is supposed to be secret.' Soon a group of at least six armored men, all from the Moon's forces, surrounded him. Endymion stood up. "What's the meaning of this?" "Endymion, Prince of the Earth, you are under arrest!" "Under arrest…Under what charges?" "Kidnapping Crown Princess Serenity." "That's impossible." 'I hope this isn't the surprise, Serenity…' "It has been proclaimed by the Lunar Judicial Court that you be arrested. Any obstruction of this decree will be forcibly put down." He presented the sheet of paper with the stamped seal. Endymion clenched his fists in anger. His lips formed into a straight line. He had far more considerable power than all of the men combined, considering the extent of his planet power, but chose not to use it. If the courts suspected him, so be it. He wasn't one to argue with any law, especially that of the Moon Kingdom. 'Their justice system would prove me innocent. Surely, if they had found Serenity on either the Moon or the Earth, she would have been notified of the situation. And to think her missing… I spoke to her only a short while ago…' 'Serenity will come. And then we will have this all fixed up.' Endymion allowed himself to be taken to the Moon. He had not been allowed to speak a word during the trial, nor was he allowed the courtesy to try to contact Serenity. Not that the court had bothered… BANG BANG BANG! The sound of the gavel hitting the desk reverberated around the royal courtroom, as the final verdict rang in Endymion's ears. "Prince Endymion, Crown Prince of the Earth…" The judge looked nervously to a corner of the near empty room, where a snickering redhead nodded at him. "…guilty of the charge put up against him-kidnapping of the Crown Princess of the Moon Kingdom, Princess Serenity! And the punishment…banishment into the Vortex!" It all happened in an instant. Endymion screamed-and the sound froze all the people in the room. The last thing he thought of before the blinding light hit him was the image of Serenity, and the chilling stab of pain he felt when he realized he would never feel her in his arms again. ------- Serenity shivered with the passing of a cold night chill, clutching the small object to her chest. She had been waiting for him for what felt like forever, but still he had not shown up. "Endymion, where are you?" Her voice carried on the wind. She walked over to a bench and sat down upon it. Taking the object she planned to give to him, she flipped open it's cover and sighed when a soft twinkling melody began to play. She leaned back in an attempt to relax, and that's when she noticed something behind her. Turning around, she picked it up. Her brow furrowed. A rose. It couldn't have been from the bushes, for there were none near the bench. So that meant that it was from… Serenity closed the lid on the locket, closed her eyes, and willed herself to teleport back to the Moon. The fear and uncomfortable feelings that she tried to subdue were hitting her with full force. She thought about what could have happened to him. And she prayed that she was wrong. End Chapter 1 Please tell me what you think! startear42@aol.com Extra AN... This is a little mix of both the manga, the anime, and a sound drama in which...well, I won't spoil it for you, but if anyone has any idea what I'm talking about from this story(it'll be more clear in the next chapters), please e-mail me...I've been trying to find the English transcripts to it.
