Wisdom’s Fools Chapter 1 By: Nightfall Only the night can hide my tears Of memories long forgotten The pictures in my mind Did not tell me a lot then Though your words cannot relieve The needles in my heart For the damage had been made And the love has been forgot -Nightfall The wind rush gently across her face lifting up her hair and swaying it with the evening wind as she ran across the crooked, paved road toward the building in the corner of her mind. The building only seemed to get smaller and much further away rather than bigger and closer. An image of a beautiful goddess entered her mind and as fast as it appeared it disappeared leaving the images to envelop into the darkness. The castle has disappeared into the dark but than another began to reappeared, only in a different surrounding this time. This castle looked less elegant than the one she had seen just minutes ago but it was still a wonderful looking place. A rosebush in the garden seemed to have the most pleaser of this surprising place for it stood so tall and almost proud of its high position in the garden. Dust flustered around her feet as she walked along through the large corridor that lead to many different rooms. Only the small chirp of birds from outside could be heard and nothing more. At the end there stood a large pair of door that looked more important than the other for it had golden knobs and the door was craved and painted ever so nicely. The knob began to turn softly and then it was pushed open showing a very handsome young man there much to her surprise. “Who are you?” He asked causing her whole body to tremble. How is it that he could see her yet no other could? His voice was smooth and almost nice if it wasn’t for the sharp edge that she heard that sounded much like a demand. “Serena.” She answered softly in a sounded that was not even defined as a whisper. Before he could answer she took off in the other direction through the long corridor and didn’t stop until she was completely outside. She walked along the side of the dirt road enjoying the smell of the fresh leaves falling down to the ground and small flowers pushing itself up from the entrapment of the dirt around them. Her long dress fell to the ground dragging along the dirt yet she did not mind. A group chatters on ahead of her, which she had not noticed before yet before she could leave they had notice her in their presence. Slowly and as graceful as princesses they approached her with a smile on their face. She shivered slightly although she was not sure why for she could easily defend herself if she was purge upon but there was a feeling of recognization in the gentleness of their face that was bugging her. “Hello.” A raven-haired girl started looking at the blond with some admiration as a strange feeling swept through her body. It was weird but it wasn’t actually a good or bad feeling only one of remembrance. She didn’t know why it was there but it was something about this girl. “Hello.” She answered not sure of what else to say or what they wanted her to say yet they seemed somehow consent with just the hello. Again the feeling course through her body leaving when it has was done driving her mad. Silence filled the air causing the surrounding to go completely cold. A gust passed by her making her shiver once again and this time it did not go unnoticed to the rest of the group. Suddenly the sky erupted with a loud blast, smoke covering the sky to the ground, and a figure enter in through a black portal or vortex. Her hair was the color red almost the color of blood and eyes like the color of her hair except it was blacker. Her body was snake-like floating about 6 feet above the ground. A black staff stood it place in her hand with a crystal stuck on top where negative energy was coming from. To her surprise the others were not the least bit scared at the sight of this strange creature that had the ability to float above them. They looked at her with a disgusted look on their face and loafing. Then to add to the surprises that were all going on they lifted a pen in the air and started to shout the name of different planets in the sky letting a bright light cover them and within seconds it was gone revealing 8 fighting soldiers. The black shadow laughed and yelled some words at them about how were they going to fight without their precious princess. That seemed to boil the anger of the group more and the fight began. She could see that the group did not have much advantaged in the fight for they were losing pretty badly. Just as the woman was about to blast one of the scouts she picked up a fairly large rock and threw it into her face. Three punctured hole laid were the rock had made contact with her face and blood made it way down her greenish cheeks. When the surprise disappeared the woman turned her angry attention toward the young girl ready to use her attack on her. In a blast a cloud of smoke covered her and kept the figure whom was about to attack her at a lost now that she could not see where she was. Coughing was heard in the corner that came in different positions: a couple from the ground and one that was 4 feet directly above her. Just as the smoke began to clear a long dagger came directly towards her head and was edging closer by the second. Before she had the thought of running or screaming enter her head the dagger disappeared and so did everything else. Within seconds there was nothing to be seen only a deep blackness swirling around her enveloping in the blank silence. A gasp escaped her lips as she shot straight up from her laying position on her bed. Sweat curved down her face and her breath came in and out a little faster than it would regularly. There were just a single memory that was still embedded deep in her mind that left her in the isolating darkness and it was the feeling of knowing these images even though she knew that she had not seen them before at least in this lifetime. Again the dreams emerged from the top of her head trying to reveal more than she wanted to know, though after the memory of the dream all of her question remained unanswered. It was as if the answer would not be pleasing to hear and that it was best for the answer as well as the question to not be heard. Grunting silently she push the covers away and got out of bed, heading to the shower. After putting her hair in her usual buns she headed downstairs to get something for breakfast. The annoying answer machine was beeping loudly when she finally got down. She pushed the little black button and walked over to the refrigerator to try and find some food that might be still there. “Serena. Just in case you forget your mother wanted me to remind you that you promised to come to celebrate your aunt’s wedding tomorrow. If you don’t get here on time your mother is going to go ballistic like she always does and believe me you don’t want to see her like that and neither do I. I already have enough of all of your mother constant yelling.” “So is that what you think huh. I’m going to -.” The message ended abruptly with a soft beep and then another was put on yet she paid no attention. Looking at the calendar she notice she put a red mark on one of the day that marked her aunt’s wedding. The strange thing was that it was clearly on marked on tomorrow. She stopped the message that was on and replayed the first one for she had not remember about any wedding. Cursing silently to herself she headed back up the stairs and brought out a suitcase. After filling the suitcase to its maximum capacity she collapsed onto her bed and fell into a deep sleep exhausted the work. Once again the dreams began to take over her body but it was different from the one she had last night. She was now in a field of flowers that had just bloomed. She sat down enjoying the fresh scent of the flowers when she brought them to her nose. There was a castle just after the field of flowers that almost seemed out of her reach. A loud crashed came from the sky but she could see that it was not thunder for there was not a single cloud in the sky. It was so frightening to her. She ran towards the beautiful castle now knowing why it looked so familiar. It was the first castle she saw in the dream last night. It made her feel as thought she was having the same dream all over yet this time she was able to get closer to the place unlike when she got further in her last. Finally she made her way up to the palace and started to admire its beauty. There was a small fountain in front with an angle sitting and another standing, spurting water out of his mouth. The whole palace was supported with columns like some kind of Greek temple yet she thought it was lovely. High above her was a beautiful balcony that would have the best view of Earth. She looked at the high door that probably lead to the throne room considering that it looked to be the largest and most important door around the palace. Her mind seemed to debate whether to go in or not. Yet it was obvious to her that she should try to escape from the howling screech of the sky. She pushed the door open slightly, just enough for her to squeeze through, and walked aimlessly around the large room. Just then the door began to open once again and she rushed behind the nearest column watching as two figures enter followed by the eight soldiers she had seen before in her dream. The two took their place on the throne marking that they were indeed royalty and the eight bowed before them. They stood back up at the gesture of the king’s hand and then the short-haired blond took a step out of the group and toward the king and queen. “Your majesties I regret to inform you that we had still not found your daughter. It also seems as though the evil Queen Beryl is looking for the lost moon princess for we had caught up to her on Earth.” The king and queen ’s eyes looked distress at the news. Their eyes glowed a soft misty blue with sadness and it did not went unnoticed by the group who also shared their king and queen’s sorrow. “Thank you Sailor Uranus.” Serenity said softly her voice almost breaking out into sob but she withheld the tears that were threatening to fall. “I wish that my daughter be found immediately before Queen Beryl get to her. You are dismiss.” The group bowed and left the room. Queen Serenity broke out into a sob when the door was closed. “Ohh, Terrance. This can’t be happening. My little girl. I should have never let her go. And the crystal…” Her throat clenched as she fell into her husband embrace. “There was nothing that could have been done. You did the right thing my dear. You could not have given her to the evil queen. It was for the best and I’m sure that we’ll find her. Don’t cry. Please don’t cry.” His eyes looked at his wife with pain. It hurts him to she her cry like this yet there was nothing he could do to stop the tears. Then a knock came at the door and 2 soldiers walked professionally. They came up to their king and whispered something into his ears. “Serenity dear I am needed at the bridge will you be all right?” She nodded slowly. The three walked out and the queen continued to sit on the throne looking sadly at the wall. Serena looked at her carefully trying to place her in her mind yet nothing came. Her face such sad face looked so familiar yet she could not place were she seen her before but something pulled at her. Her heart went to her completely although she did not know why. It was everything about her that capture the very thought that travel through her head. Not knowing why she took a step forward. A sharp pain passed through her leg and then a loud crash came from the planter she knocked down. The surprised queen glared at the strange girl had her face to the ground but then her eyes gradually soften for she felt no sense of danger coming from the girl. Walking over to help the stranger up she notice the way the girl had her hair up in the royal style. Brushing it off she helped Serena up and then the two eyes met. Love, passion, understanding, and uncertainties shone clearly in their eyes trying to remember things that they never knew. There was just an invisible connection that was over them once they touch, almost as though becoming one. A link formed between them that could never be broken. Breaking her eyes away from the queen she turned her attention to the pain that was searing through her leg like a burning flame. It was then that she noticed the dress that was wrapped around her body. It was a white silk that shone so wonderfully. Golden pearls lined below her breast and the neckline showed her smooth neck and stopped above her breast. The rest of the dress flowed down like an endless river to the floor. On her feet laid a pair of slipper made of fine moonbeam. The queen notice the girl’s eye turning toward her leg and a quick, pained expression pass through her face. What surprised her even more was the dress that the stranger wore that looked much like her own. This girl held more power than she could imagine and her soul was so full of emotions that she was never able to understand the depth of it. “Who are you?” The voice was so warm and lush full of love. The crown on her head got a glimpse of the sun and then glitter brightly on her head. Her silver blue eyes looked confusingly at the girl whom had somehow captured her heart, something that not many were able to do. Ignoring the pain on her leg she stood up and did a curtsey for the queen. Pain seared her every moments and it did not go unnoticed by the queen who looked down at the swollen leg as she stumbled over her apology. She winced awkwardly and almost fell over when the tried to placed the foot down firmly. A warm pair of hand fell upon her foot and she looked down curiously at the queen who held her foot tenderly with closed eye. It was obvious that she was in deep concentration. A strange sensation spread throughout her leg and she could feel the pain slowly leaving her. Just as the process was almost finish something unusual happened that both did not understand and the broken contact. Sweat curved down the queen eyebrow this girl she could not place was somewhat strangely familiar so that when they touched no words needs to be said to know the other feelings. ‘What is it about this girl. She reminds me of someone that I used to know and cherish.’ Her mind wandered more deeply almost making her lose contact with the reality around her. She exposed her thoughts but just a look in the eye. “I’m sorry for bothering you, your majesty.” With those little words she ran out the throne room before the queen could say anything. She could feel vast amount of air passing her body and could feel strands of loose hair brushing against her warm cheeks. Her clumsiness brought her to stumble into the four soldiers that she had meet with before. They were surprised to she her face and then the surprised disappeared suddenly leaving a pair of uncertain faces. The blond reached out and grabbed her wrist and held onto it tightly. “Who are you?” She demanded harshly as all their once friendly faces become more heated than she could have ever thought. She looked at them in shock not sure of what she should say. The blond reached to her side and retrieved a dagger from her belt. “Who are you?” She remained quiet, not willing that might endanger herself and she tried to hold back the tears that were welling up in her eyes. Then to her horror the dagger was moved forward pressing at her neck as they sneered one more time, “Who are you?” ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Perfect place to end this little part.
